The Girum Certified Offensive Security Architect (GCOSA) program is an elite, multi-tier training pathway designed to transform students from foundational system administrators into highly skilled offensive security professionals.

This program is uniquely split into two core courses, each carrying its own independent certification. Additionally, students have the opportunity to earn a prestigious third credential based entirely on real-world achievement.

Course 1: Girum Certified Linux Manager (GCLM)

Before you can break a system, you must understand exactly how it works under the hood. The first phase of the program focuses entirely on achieving deep competency in Linux administration.

  • Objective: To equip students with the technical mastery required to manage, configure, and harden Linux environments effectively.

  • Core Focus Areas:

    • Command-line interface (CLI) proficiency and advanced terminal navigation.

    • User accounts, permissions management, and file system hierarchies.

    • Package management, network configuration, and system log analysis.

    • Basic automation, shell scripting, and security hardening principles.

  • Outcome: Upon successful completion of this phase, students are awarded the GCLM (Girum Certified Linux Manager) certificate, proving they possess the foundational infrastructure skills necessary for advanced cybersecurity work.

Course 2: Girum Certified Offensive Security Architect (GCOSA)

With a rock-solid foundation in Linux, students transition into the offensive mindset, learning the art and engineering of modern penetration testing.

  • Objective: To teach students how to systematically identify, exploit, and document security vulnerabilities across modern enterprise environments.

  • Core Focus Areas:

    • Information Gathering: Reconnaissance, asset mapping, and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT).

    • Network Security: Scanning, enumeration, and mapping complex network infrastructures.

    • Web Application Penetration Testing: Identifying flaws like SQL Injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), and broken authentication.

    • System Testing: Exploiting operating system vulnerabilities and gaining unauthorized access.

  • Outcome: Upon passing the grueling practical evaluation, students earn the premier GCOSA (Girum Certified Offensive Security Architect) certification, proving their capability to analyze and secure complex architectures.

The Elite Distinction: Girum Certified Penetration Tester Professional (GCPTP)

Girum Security bridges the gap between academic theory and active industry impact. For students who go above and beyond the classroom, an advanced third certificate is available.

  • The Challenge: If a student identifies, responsibly disclouses, and secures a verified, real-world vulnerability in a live production environment (outside of the training labs), they elevate their status.

  • The Reward: The student will be awarded the elite GCPTP (Girum Certified Penetration Tester Professional) designation. This credential serves as a badge of honor in the cybersecurity industry, proving that the holder possesses genuine, field-tested talent capable of uncovering zero-day flaws or complex security gaps in the real world.
